The United States accuses two Chinese hackers of trying to steal research data on coronary vaccines.
Two A Chinese citizen has been charged with attempts to steal research data on coronary vaccines and hack into the information networks of hundreds of companies, the U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday.
However, according to the Ministry of Justice, research data on coronary vaccines have apparently not been compromised.
According to the ministry, the hackers have targeted companies from the United States, Australia, Germany and Sweden, among others. The companies’ industries have included defense, solar energy, the gaming industry and pharmaceuticals. Chinese hackers also targeted human rights activists in the United States, China and Hong Kong, said Deputy Justice Minister John Demers.
According to Demers, the accused occasionally acted for their own benefit, from time to time on behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Security. They are believed to be in China at the moment.
