Korhogo, in the north of the Ivory Coast, says goodbye in turn to Amadou Gon Coulibaly, the Ivorian Prime Minister who died last week after having made a faintness in the Council of Ministers. Prayer was scheduled for 1 p.m. on this Good Friday for Muslims. The faithful are present by the hundreds inside and outside. Some begin to enter the mosque. All and all are mostly dressed in bright white boubou, with of course a mask on their noses, pandemic of Covid-19 requires.
Lots of emotion here. Tears at the arrival of the remains of the late Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly. President Alassane Ouattara and some officials will be in a tent set up for the occasion right in front of the body of his lifelong collaborator, the one he still calls today ” his son “And the one who had been designated to take up the torch in the presidential election next October.
After this prayer, the family and most certainly the Head of State himself will accompany the disappeared to his last home, the family vault of the lineage of Gon Coulibaly, the notables of the region. There will follow a popular ceremony at the municipal stadium of the city of Korhogo for the populations of Korhogo, but also for those of other cities, localities from neighboring regions, especially northern regions, who will meet for a last tribute to the child of the country.
