Orenburg sports director Dmitry Andreev commented on the decision of the Russian Football Union (RFU) not to expand the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the 2020/2021 season.
“Why be upset? It was all designed for this. As we prepared for the FNL, we continue to prepare, we did not harbor any illusions. As for the initiative of a member of the Federation Council, we are not engaged in this. We have our own current affairs and tasks. Now we have a match with Dynamo, and then we are preparing for a new season in the FNL, “Andreev told the Championship.
Orenburg took the last place in the RPL standings and was relegated to the Football National League.
Earlier it was reported that 16 teams will perform in the next RPL season.
