The conspiracy against America, the HBO series on SKY

The plot against America is the HBO miniseries created by David Simon and Ed Burns.

The Jewish Levin family witnesses the rise to power of aviator Charles Lindberg, a man of clear anti-Semitic and xenophobic tendencies. Lindberg, who wins the 1940 presidential election, transforms the United States of America into a fascist country and ally with the Nazis. Little Philip will witness, despite himself, the violent political and social changes that will ensue. An Uchronic story that, although set in the years of the Second World War, still deals with current issues such as xenophobia, anti-Semitism, racism, the search for the scapegoat, and political demagogy.

The plot against America it is taken from the homonymous novel by Philip Roth.

The miniseries is made up of six episodes, which aired in the US starting March 16.

The main cast of the series is composed of John Tuturro (Jesus Rolls), Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), Zoe Kazan and Anthony Boyle.
Morgan Spector (Homeland), David Krumholtz, Azhy Robertson (Marriage Story), Caleb Malis and Jacob Laval complete the cast.

The book had intrigued David Simon from the first reading but did not believe it was contemporary to the years in which it was published and so did not accept the request of the HBO channel to adapt the novel into a miniseries. But Obama’s re-election and subsequent changes after the end of his term were the right climate to present the series based on Roth’s novel.

The conspiracy against America, signed by The Wire creators David Simon and Ed Burns, will air on SKY from July 24th.
