The Jewish Levin family witnesses the rise to power of aviator Charles Lindberg, a man of clear anti-Semitic and xenophobic tendencies. Lindberg, who wins the 1940 presidential election, transforms the United States of America into a fascist country and ally with the Nazis. Little Philip will witness, despite himself, the violent political and social changes that will ensue. An Uchronic story that, although set in the years of the Second World War, still deals with current issues such as xenophobia, anti-Semitism, racism, the search for the scapegoat, and political demagogy.
The plot against America it is taken from the homonymous novel by Philip Roth.

The book had intrigued David Simon from the first reading but did not believe it was contemporary to the years in which it was published and so did not accept the request of the HBO channel to adapt the novel into a miniseries. But Obama’s re-election and subsequent changes after the end of his term were the right climate to present the series based on Roth’s novel.
The conspiracy against America, signed by The Wire creators David Simon and Ed Burns, will air on SKY from July 24th.
