A 47-year-old man from Bnei Brak was arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of involvement in the murder of his mother, a 72-year-old woman, in her apartment in the city yesterday. This, after she was hospitalized in critical condition with bruises on her body at the hospital, where she was later determined dead. This morning he will be brought to the Magistrate’s Court in Tel Aviv, where the police will ask for an extension of his detention and send him for a psychiatric examination.
At first, the suspicion arose that the elderly woman had fallen into her home and was injured, but a series of tests and photographs she took did not reconcile with an alleged fall incident. Yesterday, it appears, despite attempts to save her life, doctors were forced to determine her death, and following the findings, doctors believed it was a criminal incident and a report was passed to police last night.
As soon as the report was received, a special investigation team (IDF) of Merhav Dan was appointed by the police to conduct the investigation, during which the suspicion grew that it was a criminal incident and that the deceased’s son was connected to her serious injury, which led to his arrest.
