Sony announced this in a video. “The car has now arrived in Tokyo to test the sensors and audio technology,” the company explains.

“This prototype vehicle is currently being developed so that it can be tested on public roads later this fiscal year.” The company has made great strides since its unveiling in January this year, when the Vision-S was primarily a concept.

The Vision-S is the first electric vehicle that Sony makes. The car is primarily intended to show integrated technology. In this way, the company hopes to sell its ideas to car manufacturers.

To 100 in 4.8 seconds

The car can reach a speed of 100 kilometers per hour in 4.8 seconds. More than thirty built-in sensors ensure that it recognizes objects outside the car for self-driving car systems, but also identifies people in the car.

Although the car is being tested, this does not mean that it is already certain that Sony will actually sell the car to consumers. To date, the Japanese company has always said that it does not want to become an automaker.
