Senior religious Zionist rabbis submitted a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning (Wednesday) asking him to apply sovereignty as soon as possible over the territories of Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. The letter comes after the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, addressed the senior rabbis of religious Zionism and presented them with the situation and the fear of harming settlement and the Land of Israel if sovereignty was not applied in the window of opportunity.
In their letter, the rabbis write: “First, we want to strengthen his honor in dealing with the corona virus and let there be a desire for a great Dashmia assistant in his work and whatever he does will succeed” the rabbis wrote and continued “However, we are at a critical time for the future of Israel and Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria.”
The Land of Israel is a spiritual and material property of the people of Israel, the rabbis noted and said that it was inherited from our ancestors and given to us by God. “At this time, we call on him to take advantage of the historic opportunity and to apply full sovereignty over the lands of our country in Judea and Samaria, the birthplace of the Jewish people, without any other conditions or obligations.”
The letter was signed by the Chief Rabbi of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi Dov Lior, one of the most important arbitrators in religious Zionism, Rabbi Elyakim Lebanon, Rabbi of Samaria and Rosh Yeshivat Birkat Yosef on Mount Bracha, and Rabbi Eliyahu Zini, former Technion Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva Or Yeshua.
The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, welcomed the letter and said that only with joint efforts can we reach the main goal, and that is to apply sovereignty over all areas of settlement in Judea and Samaria.
“We tell the prime minister to apply sovereignty here and now, without speech and without election promises, as for sovereignty in one day, as Levi Eshkol applied sovereignty in one day so can the prime minister, it is a one-moment decision that can change a 2000-year-old historical reality of longing “The prime minister boasts the largest number of voters for the party since the establishment of the state, they voted for the Likud based on the promises of full sovereignty in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley. The prime minister should listen to his voters,” Dagan said.
