Rapper Donnie (25) will prepare a vegan meal with a famous Dutchman for his new cooking program every week from 10 August. Donnie to the Boil. KRO-NCRV reports this in a press release on Wednesday.
In the series, Donnie cooks together with guests such as singer Frans Bauer, presenter Daan Boom and rapper ICE vegan variants of their favorite dishes.
“Eating and cooking connects,” said Donnie. “So during cooking I get to know my guests better and we have interesting conversations and of course a lot of fun. My challenge is to make their favorite dish without animal products. And convince my guests that it is just as tasty or maybe tastier. ”
The rapper was originally trained as a chef and released his first cookbook early this year. In 2010, during his chef training, he challenged rapper Lange Frans in the battle for the best risotto. Donnie, who was still making music under the name Young Kermit, won the competition.
The two kept in touch and in 2011 Donnie contributed to Lange Frans’ album Song of Life. That led to the breakthrough of the young artist.
Donnie to the Boil will be featured on NPO3’s YouTube channel. The first episode is dedicated to foeyonghai, Frans Bauer’s favorite dish.
