During the night from Friday to Saturday, the Dutch and Belgian police arrested three men near the Belgian town of Ravels, after a chase that started in Tilburg.
Friday evening, the Tilburg police received a report of a possible burglary at a house on the Hornstraat. When the police arrived, several people with masks were found.
Despite the police using pepper spray, two suspects managed to escape in a getaway car, which was driven by a third suspect.
After a “long pursuit at high speeds” according to the police, the getaway car crashed in the town of Ravels, just across the border with Belgium. The suspects managed to escape after the crash, but were later arrested near Weelde airport.
In the search for the suspects, the area was cordoned off by the Dutch and Belgian police and two police helicopters were deployed.
The police are still looking for a fourth suspect. He did not get into the getaway car, but ran after the confrontation at the house in Tilburg towards the Heyhoef shopping center.
