Over 560,000 deaths have so far been recorded worldwide due to coronavirus, while the overall case balance has so far reached the 12.5 million mark. This is what emerges from the data published by Johns Hopkins University. The American university’s tally indicates that the total death toll is 560,226 this morning, compared with 12,499,154 infections. 6,879,813 people have healed so far.
The US registered 63,643 new ones coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. In the previous day there had been over 65,500. In total, there are 3,181,846 infections, over 134 thousand victims.
Brazil on Friday recorded further 1,214 deaths and 45,548 infections in the last 24 hours: the National Council of Health Secretaries (Conass) and the Ministry of Health communicated this evening. The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country has therefore risen to 1,800,827, while the total number of victims since the start of the pandemic has reached 70,398.
Third place for India which in a few days has seen a dizzying increase in new positives reaching 793,802 infections. Italy has slowed the curve and has 242,363 cases.
Protests do not stop in Serbia, especially in Belgrade despite repeated calls by the Serbian authorities not to gather and organize demonstrations in this phase of strong recovery of the Coronavirus infections. Even today in the late afternoon some thousands of anti-government demonstrators returned to gather in Belgrade and in some of the other main cities of the country to challenge the actions of the authorities in the health emergency, to request the resignation of the special crisis unit for the epidemic, call for greater democracy and transparency and free and independent media.
Russia has registered 6,611 new cases of coronavirus and a further 188 deaths caused by the disease in the last 24 hours: the national anticoronavirus operations center announced today. The new data bring the overall balance of infections to 720,547 and that of the dead to 11,205. So far 497,446 people have been healed in the country.
IPakistan has recorded 2,752 new coronavirus cases and an additional 65 deaths related to the disease in the last 24 hours: the Ministry of Health announced today. The new data bring the total balance of infections to 246,351 and that of deaths to 5,123. The provinces most affected are always Sindh and Punjab, with 102,368 and 85,991 cases respectively. At least 4,042 people have recovered in the past 24 hours, for a total of 153,134 since the start of the pandemic. 2,156 patients remain in critical condition, 219 fewer than in the previous 24 hours.
