Osimhen’s move had been in the air for a while, but a change of agent at the striker’s camp delayed things. Now he can officially call himself a player of Napoli. The Italian top club reportedly transfers 60 million euros to Lille. The amount can reach up to 80 million through bonuses.
Napoli thereby pulverizes the transfer record from 2013, when Gonzalo Higuaín came over from Real Madrid for 39 million euros. Lille paid 14 million for Osimhen to Charleroi a year ago. The latter may also pass the cash register, according to La Dernière Heure, Charleroi managed to negotiate a resale percentage of 20%. The transfer from Osimhen therefore again generates Charleroi a sloppy 12 million euros.
According to various Italian media, Osimhen initially saw nothing in a transfer to Naples. The clubs were already out, but the Nigerian was not sure. In the end, he decided to take the step.
Osimhen only played for Lille for one season. He impressed by scoring thirteen goals in 27 games.
