OFFICIAL: KRC Genk loses talent to PSV: ‘That is the right step for me’

PSV has strengthened itself with a talented attacker. Ismael Saibari Ben El Basra, a born Spaniard with Moroccan roots, comes from KRC Genk.

Saibari has signed a three-year contract in Eindhoven and immediately joins Jong PSV. “I can’t wait to get to know my teammates,” he said on his new club’s website.
The 1.85-meter-long midfielder made the switch from Anderlecht’s youth academy to Genk’s in 2017. With that club, he played in the Youth League last season against, among others, Liverpool, Napoli and Red Bull Salzburg.
“PSV is the right step for me,” says Saibari. “PSV is one of the largest clubs in the Netherlands. They are also very well known internationally. At PSV, as a youth player, you have the opportunity to grow and that is very important for a young player like me.”
Saibari will play professional football for the first time this season. “I already know a number of players who have played in the Kitchen Champion Division. It is a good competition to grow. The final step is to reach PSV 1 and play in the Eredivisie.”
