Mi Band 5, price revealed: how much it will cost

Great expectation for Xiaomi Mi Band 5, the new smart band produced by the Chinese company that should arrive in Europe by mid-July. By now we know practically all the details and specifications, including size and different features, such as monitoring blood saturation. But there is still one element that remains in the mystery: the price.

In recent weeks there was even talk of a cost from 20 to 30 euros. However, this news was never made official, even during the presentation of the device which in the Chinese list was 175 yuan. Finally some rumors came from the account Sudhanshu1 Twitter, a famous technology leaker. Recall that the device that preceded Xiaomi Mi Band 5 at launch it was proposed at 34.99 euros. And it is precisely from this premise that the numerous rumors start, including that of Sudhanshu1 which has been circulating in the last few hours.

Xiaomi Mi Band 5: news on the price

Sudhanshu has revealed the arcane, publishing a tweet about the new Chinese fitness tracker: the post reads this way “Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will cost € 39.99 in Europe“. The information reveals some elements. First of all, we will have a low cost product again: it will only cost 5 euros more compared to the previous Mi Band 4, despite being characterized by several additional functions, many really important for users.

First of all, it will have a larger OLED display, that is 1.2 inches (compared to the 0.95 inches of the Mi Band 4) and it will also include blood saturation.

Functionality of the Mi Band 5

The experience approaches that of one smartwatch of the latest generation, also because it includes a function that stimulates the user to play sports and move, ideal for those who love to do physical activity outdoors. The sports that can be monitored are running, cycling, step, swimming, bodyweight gymnastics and even yoga.

There will then be a smart band feature that will allow you to take pictures with the phone as well as being compatible with Amazon Alexa, a novelty that has made several home automation enthusiasts enthusiastic. Another question that has no definite answer is: there will also be NFC technology? Many users are waiting for news also because this would allow contactless payments to be made through the device, without carrying the mobile phone or wallet. It would therefore be something exclusive for the European market. In fact, the NFC so far allows to operate only in China and Russia, thanks to the partnership with Mastercard.

All that remains is to wait for the first half of July to find out the whole truth and test the functionality of Mi Band 5. Not to mention that it is unclear whether it will be launched in two versions, as many rumors claim.
