From 15 June, the day of the opening of the dedicated channel of the Revenue Agency for the non-refundable contribution, more than 890 thousand orders for payment have been issued for a total amount of 2.9 billion euro and for an average amount of approximately 3,258 EUR. The sums are credited directly to the current accounts of companies, traders and craftsmen. To date there are 1,208,085 applications for non-refundable contributions from all over the national territory. This was communicated by the Inland Revenue itself, specifying that Lombardy is in first place with over 200 thousand applications.

Requests by sector and by region

Almost 343 thousand applications from the “wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles”, over 164 thousand those relating to “accommodation and restaurant services”, 162 thousand applications from the “construction works” sector ; the “manufacturing activities” exceed 143 thousand, the “travel agencies” requests 42 thousand, the “transport and storage” requests, more than 35 thousand those of the “real estate activities”.

Out of the total of over 1.2 million requests received, 207,200 come from Lombardy, followed by Campania, which with 110,577 applications exceeds 100 thousand, and Lazio (105,010). Emilia Romagna (94,457), Tuscany (89,704), Piedmont (83,496), Puglia (78,768) and Veneto (106,442) and Sicily (79,356) stand out among the other regions. The questions come almost homogeneously from the whole national territory.

Gualtieri, success on grants

«Today is a beautiful day, there has been so much talk of delays that there have been some measures such as layoffs. But it is good that we also talk about efficiency of results such as non-repayable grants paid by the Revenue Agency “, a measure that” is proving to be a real success. Very effective”. Economy Minister Roberto Gualtieri says so on the sidelines of the Confederal Council of Uil. «Simple procedures, shorter times than announced and important contributions that are paid. We are almost 3 billion “, underlines the minister, reporting” compliments to the Revenue Agency which – he adds with a joke – is working as an Exit Agency with great effectiveness “.

The sectors most affected

Among the sectors in greatest difficulty there is the restaurant sector: while the ‘old’ restaurants in many cases fail to reopen after the lockdown – explains Unioncamere – the new ones clearly halve: in the second quarter of 2020 (March-May, in full pandemic therefore) asked to open 1,129 businesses, with a drop of 1,331 compared to the same period of 2019, or more than half (-54.1%). And it’s no better for bars: the absence of workers and tourists puts bars, restaurants and other food businesses in crisis, especially in tourist destinations, city centers and high-density office districts. – explains Fiepet (Confesercenti) – One in three companies report a drop of more than half of their turnover, and 21.8% – over two out of ten businesses – fear closure. If the situation continues, 87.5% of respondents will consider reducing employees permanently. What to do? Unioncamere provides a list of reforms to be implemented shortly, for example the digitization of SMEs would provide a positive 1.6 point boost to GDP. Instead, Confcommercio points the finger at the “bad bureaucracy” which – explains Carlo Sangalli – has a ‘monstre’ cost of 70 billion GDP less and “slows down the productivity of companies and hinders their growth”. So “in an international comparison, out of 36 OECD countries, Italy slips to third-last place going from 20th to 33rd position”.
