Almost two seconds behind the best at the end of the second qualifying session is a huge thing, but Charles Leclerc he strove to watch the glass half full at the end of a Saturday marked by the rain at the Red Bull Ring. For tomorrow, however, the forecasts are better and a dry race is expected, for this reason the 1997 class driver has chosen a set-up for his Ferrari SF-1000 # 16 aimed at performing well in the race by sacrificing today’s qualification. Leclerc struggled, but had to surrender in the face of the elimination in Q2 exactly as it had happened for Sebastian Vettel seven days ago. The Monegasque driver will be able to choose which tire compound to start with in order to look for another fantastic comeback as happened last Sunday, when he brought Ferrari to the second step of the podium.

The Prancing Horse driver has obviously not hidden a situation that sees Ferrari in clear difficulty with respect to various teams. Leclerc, however, feeds looks with great confidence tomorrow’s race: “I have to improve driving in these conditions – began with a mea culpa Leclerc on the microphones of Sky Sport F1 – but the truth is that we are not fast enough and it is difficult to be 1 ″ 8 from the top. Ferrari undriveable? It’s a big word, I wouldn’t go as far as there, for sure, however, it was difficult for me to drive in these conditions because I focused on a more aggressive set-up that was good in the dry, in the wet it was more difficult. The goal was to have a performance car in the race and from that point of view I think we made the right choice. ”
