The Brand Land Rover returns to take care of those who work on wheels and do it with its new workhorse: the Defender. From UK in fact, the news arrives that the versions have been made “truck” of the New Defender 90 and 110 which for the occasion bring the name to the fore Hard Top in the family of the iconic 4×4.

It goes without saying that the capabilities of the New Defender will make it one of the best performing off-road commercial vehicles, capable of competing with pick-ups, with the advantage of having all the comforts of the car model and greater load capacity.

Everything you need to work comfortably

The option of having three front seats also improves the versatility and the Over-The-Air software update (which we also saw in the Ford F-150) will optimize visits in assistance. The Hard Top model combines one towing capacity of 3,500 kg with Advanced Tow Assist technology (optional) for trouble-free use of trailers.

All the full details of Defender 90 and 110 Hard Top will be announced by the end of the year, when they are available for order. Prices will start from £ 35,500 (plus VAT) in the UK, approx 39 thousand euros.

A true off-road vehicle of the latest generation

As said also the version truck will retain all the characteristics that distinguish the new Defender, starting with shell in aluminum D7x high density (also shared with fully electric models) three times stiffer than even the best side members and cross members.

The Hard Top version will optimize functionality of the loading area of the new Defender with resistant materials and dedicated storage solutions, to ensure that it exceeds the professional performance of the previous models.

Top performance

Hard Top 90 and 110 will both be equipped with independent spring suspension, with electronically controlled pneumatic shock absorbers. Both set-ups will provide height from the ground of 291 mm, while the Hard Top 110 will have attack, hump and exit angles of 38, 28 and 40 degrees respectively. Full technical details will be confirmed by the end of the year.

The load capacity has not been declared, but that of pulling will be of 3,500 kg. In the cabin there will be no seats in the second and third row, but optionally up to three people can sit in the front. The ClearSight rearview system will preserve the rear visibility even when the center seat is occupied or the load compartment is full.

Safe trailers

A series of technologies will help docking, driving and reverse gear with trailer. Impressive for a commercial vehicle, the ford capacity of 900 mm exceeded by the Wade program in the system Terrain Response 2.
