Juventus loses without De Ligt, Ibrahimovic achieves special milestone | NOW

Juventus suffered the sixth loss of the season in Serie A on Wednesday. The champion lost 2-0 to Cagliari without Matthijs de Ligt. Zlatan Ibrahimovic achieved a special milestone with a big win from AC Milan.

Juventus was already 2-0 behind halfway against Cagliari. Luca Gagliano made the 1-0 early in the match with a tighter and Giovanni Simeone in the injury time of the first half for the 2-0 with a drop kick in the far corner.

At Juventus, a number of players have been spared in view of next week’s return against Olympique Lyon in the eighth finals of the Champions League. This also applied to De Ligt, who also suffers from some complaints on his shoulder and thigh.

Juventus secured itself with De Ligt in the base of the ninth league title in a row on Sunday, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Sampdoria. This weekend, the 38th and last round is scheduled in Serie A. There are five matches on Saturday evening and five matches on Sunday evening.

Ibrahimovic claims the lead role

Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again claimed the lead role for AC Milan on Wednesday. The Swedish star player, with two goals and an assist, had a large share in the resounding 1-4 victory over Sampdoria.

Ibrahimovic quickly opened the score with a header, shortly after halftime enabled Hakan Çalhanoglu with the head to make it 0-2 and not much later responsible for the 0-3 with his left. In the final phase, Kristoffer Askildsen (1-3 with a nice long shot) and Rafael Leao (1-4 with a curled shot).

The 38-year-old, who has an expiring contract and does not yet know where he will play next season, is the first player to score at least fifty times in Serie A for both Milan and Internazionale. For Milan, the counter is at 51 and at Inter he came out at 57.

In addition, Ibrahimovic, who after his employment between 2010 and 2012 is in his second period with Milan, is now the fifth player who has been accurate fifty times for Milan in the Serie A. Andriy Shevchenko (117), Kaká (77) this century, Filippo Inzaghi (73) and Alexandre Pato (51) preceded him.

Roma secures fifth place

Despite the victory, Milan has no chance in fifth place that entitles to a ticket for the group stage of the Europa League. AS Roma did not make a mistake with Torino (2-3) without bench chairman Justin Kluivert and sentenced Milan to sixth place and the preliminary rounds of the EL.

Lazio continues to compete for second place. The Romans won 2-0 against Brescia and have number four as many points as Atalanta and one less than number two Inter. Lazio, Atalanta and Inter have already qualified for the group stage of the Champions League, just like Juventus.

At Lazio, Ciro Immobile was good for his 35th league goal of the season. He can hardly miss the top scorer title in Serie A – Cristiano Ronaldo is 31 – and also the conquest of the Golden Boot after he passed Robert Lewandowski.

Lecce took the last glimmer of hope for body preservation thanks to a 1-2 victory over Udinese. The number eighteen is still one point behind Genoa in seventeenth place, which had no chance against Sassuolo (5-0). Furthermore, Fiorentina was 4-0 too strong for Bologna and Hellas Verona 3-0 for SPAL.
