Jake Cohen signed for one season in the Spanish Oberadiro – Sport 5


After three years at Maccabi Tel Aviv, Jake Cohen decided to change the atmosphere. A day after winning the championship with the Yellows for the third time in a row, he signed today (Wednesday) with the Spanish Obradiro for one season. The team plays in the senior league.

“Jake is an intelligent player and will give our team a lot of variety in his game. He comes from a big club and with great enthusiasm to prove himself in the Spanish league and serve as a key player,” said Aberdewiro general manager Jose Luis Matteo.
The forward said goodbye to the team in a post on his Instagram account when he wrote: “My goal when I signed with Maccabi three months ago was to get the team back to the top of the Premier League. Three championships later I leave with a sense of satisfaction from the team’s success.” And I’m proud to have had a small part in the success. ”
Cohen was signed by Maccabi Tel Aviv as early as 2013 and after only 10 games he was loaned to Maccabi Rishon LeZion. The following season he played a full season in the Yellows uniform and was then released. In 2017, he returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv after a season at Maccabi Ashdod and won all the last three championships with the Yellows.

Cohen scored 7.4 points per game in the playoffs, dropped 4.4 rebounds and delivered 2 assists in 21.8 minutes on average. In the regular season he stood at 10.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 21.5 minutes.
