High expectations of Feyenoord season: ‘Linssen and Diemers make a good impression’

Leroy Fer will remain with Feyenoord until mid-2022 after somewhat difficult contract negotiations. The thirty-year-old midfielder has high expectations for the new season in the Eredivisie.

“I feel fit. And when I look at our group, I have a very good feeling about it”, Fer explains his good feeling in conversation with the Algemeen Dagblad. “Our selection from last season has remained largely intact. And the new boys Bryan Linssen and Mark Diemers make a good impression on the training. Let’s hope we can continue last season’s line.”
The routine thinks that Feyenoord might have played a serious role in the title battle with Ajax and AZ last season. The cup final against FC Utrecht was also on the roll. “It is sour that we will never know how the season would have ended. But in the end, health is more important than football. We start from scratch again.”
The eleven-time international is happy to be back on the field, in particular due to the presence of trainer Dick Advocaat. “Jaap Stam was also a good trainer, of course. But with his experience Lawyer succeeds in really triggering a group. The trainer may be 72 years old, but he can still participate in a fit and kick exercise. Impressive, that possession at his age. ”
