He had lost his father doctor a few months ago because of the coronavirus, has now become a doctor and is preparing to follow in his footsteps. It is the story of Massimo Stella, 25 years old, recent graduate in Medicine with 110 cum laudeUniversity of Insubria in Varese. His father, Roberto, was the president of the Order of doctors and dentists of the province of Varese and general practitioner a Busto Arsizio. He died of Covid in early March, one of the first doctors to fall ill from the epidemic.

Massimo, his son, wanted to dedicate his degree to him, obtained with a thesis in Cardiology with Professor Roberto De Ponti. He also leaves thanks to his university colleagues who had launched one in recent months fundraiser for the hospital in Busto Arsizio, dedicating it precisely to the memory of his father: “It was a wonderful initiative, with which they showed me their closeness. Their gesture moved me, especially because it was an acknowledgment as much as my father has done in so many years of profession “.

Now, for Massimo, there is little time to celebrate: “Next September I will take the admission test to continue with the specialization. This is a national test, so based on the score I will get in the ranking I will know where my studies will continue, “he says. In the meantime there are many congratulatory messages that the boy is receiving, including those of the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, who writes on social media: “I was your dad’s friend – reads in the post – We need good new doctors, as was your dad, who I am sure from up there is proud of you. Good luck, Dr. Stella. “

In these pandemic weeks, we journalists, if we do our job with conscience, carry out a public service. This is also why every day here at ilfattoquotidiano.it we are proud to offer hundreds of new content for free to all citizens: news, exclusive insights, interviews with experts, surveys, videos and much more. All this work, however, has a great economic cost. Advertising, in a time when the economy is stagnant, offers limited revenues. Not in line with the access boom. This is why I ask those who read these lines to support us. To give us a minimum contribution, equal to the price of a cappuccino per week, fundamental for our work.
