Now that the Italian luxury label Gucci has passed the classic fashion show, creative director Alessandro Michele presented Milan Fashion Week last Friday with a special virtual parade. That put the creative employees of the brand in the spotlight for twelve hours (!).
Saying goodbye to the fashion show as we know it, Gucci fans will remember it for a long time. Alessandro Michele presented his new Epilogue collection via a live stream, which lasted a total of twelve hours. Viewers did not know what to expect, because more than the total time was not mentioned in the YouTume description.
In anticipation of the ‘show’, the fashion lovers were shown a whole series of images. Especially images of what is going on behind the scenes were discussed. For example, they got involved in a photo shoot of the resort campaign, saw how lookbook photos are created and on-screen employees in Palazzo Sacchetti in Rome.
The Gucci resort 2021 was eventually proposed by Michel and his fellow designers. “The reporting pieces are carried by the people who made them,” said Michele in a press release. This is how viewers got to know handbag designer Beatrice Gianni and children’s clothing designer Sandrine Delloye.
In total, 76 new Gucci looks were presented, which are characteristic of Michele. The line consists of bright colors and busy prints are combined at will. Popular designs from the past five years have also returned, such as the tie blouse from his first collection. All silhouettes traditionally wink at the seventies.
“I spent hours with Gucci, from the crazy party to the show prep. I really felt I was there, experiencing the events and riding a tidal wave of emotions. This ‘Epilogue Collection’ ushered in a brave new world. And I’m still not sure if I was excited – or worried – to be a part of it, ”fashion journalist Suzy Menkes wrote in Vogue.
