The Corona did leave many Israelis at home, those who did not go to work in their car and listened to the radio – and yet on an annual basis, the virus did not affect listening rates. This is what the TGI survey published this morning (Wednesday) reveals, according to which between July 2019 and June 2020, the average rate of listening to radio on weekdays was 65.7%, only one tenth of a percent less than 65.8% in the previous period 65.8% in the previous period (July 2018-June 2019) .
The TGI survey is conducted twice a year by the Cantar Media Division in Israel under the auspices of the Association of Advertising Companies, and is based on a statistical sample. The database is based on a representative sample of respondents in the Jewish sector aged 18+, reflecting a population of about 4.5 million people.
All radio stations: the corporation is rising, GLC stations and regional radio are weakening
Divided by station types, the survey shows that those of GLC (GLC and GLC) decreased their average listening rates from 41.8% in the period July 2018-June 2019 to 39.6% in the past year. Regional stations: Eco 99 is still leading
Also in the current survey Eco 99 FM is still the leading regional radio station in listening rates. This is despite a decrease of close to one percent from 9.9% to 9.1%. After stands Radio 103FM with a decrease from 10.1% in the previous period to 8.2% now. It should be noted that the station actually managed to maintain their power over the past six months, despite changes in the listening habits created by the Corona, since even in the period July-December 2019 its average listening rate was the same. In the past year, the station’s CEO Or Tsalkovnik has led changes in the broadcast schedule and a focus on current affairs, including the removal of Shai Goldstein’s and Leah Lev’s program and the replacement of Golan Yokfaz and Anat Davidov, followed by Yinon Magal and Ben Caspit.
In third place, the 100FM radius, which is also declining (from 8.4% to 6.1%), followed by live voice radio with a decrease to 4.4% compared to 5.2% a year earlier. Unlike the others, Radio Lev HaMedina, which is ranked fifth, actually rises from 4.1% to 4.3%.
Radio voice at the 92.1FM level rises to 3.6% from 3.3% in the previous period, as does Radio Kol Chai Music 102.5FM which a year ago had a listening rate of 3.4%. Radio Tel Aviv 102FM records a decrease from 3.2% in the previous period to 2.9% now. Radio Gali Israel 106.5FM experienced an increase from 2.4% to 2.7%. Radio South 97FM is also down, from 2.8% to 2.2%.
