The news comes from a fifteen-page interview in the upcoming edition of the Japanese magazine Famitsu. The details have been shared on the Ryokutya blog and translated by Twitter user Aitaikimochi.

According to the blog, the development of the second part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake started after its release in April 2020. Aitakimochi drew some interesting quotes from the interview.
For example, Nomura speaks about the release of the second part. “We know that everyone wants to play the next part quickly. We want to finish that as soon as possible. Since we know what we can deliver for quality, I hope that the next part will get even better and that it will be an even better experience. “We want to finish it as soon as possible, so be patient. We can’t really talk about it until we officially announce the second part.”
Executive producer Yoshinori Kitase also explains that “the new story of Final Fantays 7 has just begun.” That goes against comments that Kitase made earlier. He indicated that the story of the original would not be drastically changed.
We are still waiting for the official reveal of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. As soon as more is announced, you will of course read that on IGN Benelux.
