At a plenary session, the Federation Council approved a law that establishes the ability to vote in elections and referendums within a few days.
As reported by TASS, 137 senators voted for this decision, six against, one abstained.
According to the document, the format of the multi-day voting will be extended by the decision of the election commission to elections at all levels.
It will be possible to vote within a few days, but no more than three. Counting of votes in this format will begin after the closure of polling stations on the last day.
The law was adopted by the State Duma in the third reading on July 21, and now it goes to the president for signature.
