The Federation Council at a gliding meeting approved a law according to which anti-smoking legislation, including administrative fines, will be extended to vapes, hookahs and snus. RIA Novosti reports.
The project envisages the extension of the provision of the law “On protecting the health of citizens from exposure to second hand tobacco smoke and the consequences of tobacco consumption” to electronic smoking products, including hookahs.
On April 22, the State Duma adopted the bill in the third and final reading.
The first deputy chairman of the profile committee of the State Duma Fedot Tumusov, in an interview with RT, commented on the initiative.
He noted that the deputies had been working on this problem for a long time before the adoption of the document. According to him, they intend to continue to improve legislation in order to “generally exclude the harmful effects of any nicotine on our children and youth.”
