The members of the former boy band One Direction have big plans for their tenth birthday. The band broke up five years ago, but would like to reward their fans with a surprise for this occasion.
Next week One Direction may blow out ten candles and they do not want to let that go unnoticed. The group split in the summer of 2015, five months after Zayn Malik left the group, but is now planning a comeback…. online! To celebrate their tenth anniversary, One Direction launches a website on July 23, the day the band was formed in the 2010 music program ‘The X Factor’.
Look behind the scenes
A real treat for the fans, as the site will feature a timeline of the band’s history. In addition, there will be a birthday video full of career highlights and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from video clips, artwork and TV appearances. Moreover, the site will not only be a pleasure for the eyes, but also for the ears thanks to the renewed listening material that you will be able to stream online.
It is not yet known whether the members themselves will come together to celebrate their anniversary. According to Niall Horan, the group had already discussed a possible reunion for the special occasion in May. “We know it’s a very big anniversary and we definitely want to celebrate it,” Liam Payne told The Independent. For the diehard fans, it remains to be seen whether an even bigger surprise is coming.
