Five years after leaving the team, Roi Kehat signed today (Sunday) for two years in Kiryat Shmona.
The last time the 28-year-old midfielder wore the team uniform he led it to a state cup win and the Europa League qualifiers. From there Kehat moved to Austria and Vienna, but after one season he returned to Israel and recorded disappointing seasons at Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Netanya. Took 54 appearances in the club uniform, in which he scored 19 goals.
Another player who signed with Kiryat Shmona for the upcoming season is Dor Elo. The 26-year-old defender concluded his terms at Hapoel Tel Aviv last week but the deal was canceled, partly due to the economic crisis experienced by the club. If so, in Kiryat Shmona Ella will reunite with the team’s coach Kobi Refuah, after it coached him when he played for Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Urbani Kiryat Shmona survived the last round of relegation to the National League after a weak season, in which the entire team competed at the bottom of the table.
