The number of active patients now stands at 34,521. Five people have died since midnight and since the outbreak of the plague, some 491 Israelis have died as a result of the virus or its complications. Since midnight, about 14,959 tests have been performed to detect infections, with a positive test percentage of 8.1%. For comparison, about 26,125 were performed yesterday and the percentage of positive tests was 8.3%.
The five red cities are Bnei Brak, Betar Illit, Modi’in Illit, Elad and Kalenswa. Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are not red but only orange.
Meanwhile, hospital occupancy continues to rise. According to data from the Ministry of Health at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, there is 160% occupancy in the corona ward and the number of staff members in isolation is 114. At Shamir Medical Center Assaf Harofeh, the numbers are 128% and 81 (respectively), at Ichilov Hospital 114%. And 58, at Shaare Zedek Hospital about 96% and 70 and at Kaplan Hospital about 78% and 45 staff members staying in isolation.
