DOKKUM – A large cinema attraction in Northeast Friesland is imminent this weekend: film screenings on large screen in the Bonifatius chapel in Dokkum. A unique experience for young and old in the best ventilated building in the region.
Filmhuis Dokkum, the Bonifatius Chapel and Kooistra AV from Kollumerzwaag worked together to create this summer attraction. Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25, is a trial weekend, open to all interested. Entrance is 7.50 euros for adults, children up to 12 years 2.50 euros.
On Friday evening it starts with a film surprise from the Bonifatius de Musical: for those who have not yet seen this spectacular theater piece from 2012 – with music, humor and drama. Main roles for Syb van der Ploeg, Richard Spijkers, Theun Plantinga and Wieneke Remmers. Bonifatius was performed live in the chapel and attracted 13,000 visitors at the time.
Saturday afternoon at 4 pm is a beautiful children’s performance ‘Dr. Doolittle ‘, for children and families. Saturday evening at 8 p.m. a drama film from the United States: impressive and moving for a wide audience.
Due to corona, reservations at the Filmhuis Dokkum are required in advance. Maximum number of visitors is 100: first come, first served. Seats are 1.5 meters apart. If there is sufficient interest, Corona Cinéma is repeated every 14 days in August and September. Every time with new movies on a weekend cycle.
