The construction of new apartments in the former care center De Werve in the Breda district of Ginneken is almost finished. The building will soon contain 26 homes.
In March 2016, care institution Surplus discontinued care in De Werve, as a result of which the properties became available. Construction company Maas-Jacobs has been working on the renovation with architectural firms Oomen and Van Beijsterveldt & Gommers ever since.
The homes in the old care center went on sale at the end of 2017. A year later, all permits were granted and preparations were started. Work started in February last year.
The characteristic elements such as existing stairs, high ceilings and the facade of the building are retained as much as possible.
