New powers to the Antitrust Authority to block telephony services activated without users’ consent. An amendment signed by Brunetta provides for it, reformulated and approved by the Budget Committee of the Chamber which provides that the Authority can “order, even as a precautionary measure” the “removal of initiatives or activities intended for Italian consumers and disseminated through telematic or telecommunication networks which integrate the extremes of an unfair commercial practice “. The recipients of these orders have the obligation to inhibit “the use of the networks they manage” or in relation to which they provide services, in order to avoid the continuation of activities that are harmful to consumers and placed in violation of the Consumer Code “. Fines of up to 5 million are foreseen “in case of non-compliance” by operators.
