Former winners Julian Alaphilippe and Zdeněk Štybar are the spearheads of Deceuninck-Quick Step in Strade Bianche. The Belgian team, which announced the composition of its selection today, wants to play a leading role again in the Italian white road race on Saturday.Deceuninck-Quick Step already won Strade Bianche three times. First with Michał Kwiatkowski in 2014, a year later with Štybar and last season with Alaphilippe. The Frenchman beat Jakob Fuglsang and Wout van Aert on the final climb to Siena. “We have achieved many good results here in the past, three victories with just as many different riders,” said sports director Davide Bramati.
Bramati hopes to play a leading role in the one-day game with his team on Saturday. “It is a competition that we really enjoy. It will be a completely different course than we are used to, with temperatures of 35 degrees and even more dust than usual. But we go there with great motivation after our excellent training camp in Val di Fassa. We are prepared for any scenario. ”
