A bill has been submitted to the State Duma to strengthen liability for violation of the law when collecting overdue debts from citizens. As reported by RIA Novosti, the project was introduced by the Russian government.

The document involves a fine if the lender or a person who acts in his interests has committed steps aimed at repaying an overdue debt in violation of Russian law.
At the same time, the fine for officials may be from 20 thousand to 200 thousand rubles or disqualification for a period of six months to one year.
For legal entities, it is proposed to introduce a fine from 50 thousand to 500 thousand rubles instead of the current fine in the amount of 20 thousand to 200 thousand.
Earlier, a draft was submitted to the State Duma on penalties for sites refusing to delete information at the request of the law.
