The Italian Foundation of Scientists and Scholars of North America (ISSNAF – Italian Scientists and Scholars of North America Foundation) is a non-profit organization with the aim of promoting the creation of networks, highlighting results and facilitating collaborations in the Bay Area of San Francisco.
ISSNAF awards the Young Investigator awards every year to Italian researchers who started their career working in North America, in recognition of the significant and innovative contribution to their study discipline:
Embassy of Italy Award to Honor Young Italian Researchers: young Italian researchers in the United States whose work in the most advanced sectors has shown a potential significant impact on the prevention and / or management of Covid-19 will be awarded.
Paola Campese Award for Research in Leukemia: award established by Stefania and Vito Campese in 2011 in memory of their young, talented and generous daughter Paola.
Mario Gerla Award for Research in Computer Science: award established by the Gerla family in 2019 in memory of Dr. Mario Gerla, professor of Computer Science at UCLA and founder of ISSNAF.
Franco Strazzabosco Award for Research in Engineering: award established by the Strazzabosco family in 2013 in memory of the late Dr. Ing. Franco Strazzabosco, is aimed at the entrepreneurial courage of Italian engineers, who strive to apply scientific discoveries for the benefit of the public.
To participate you must: have Italian citizenship; currently collaborate with a research institute in the United States or Canada; having obtained a Ph.D., or completed medical residence, no earlier than 1 January 2013 and no later than 31 December 2018 (date on the degree certificate).
A review committee will select three finalists (for each award), who will present their research in English at the annual ISSNAF – 2020 event, during which the winners will be chosen who will receive an Award Winner Certificate and a cash prize. of $ 3,000. Questions by June 30th.
