WEATHER UNTIL 17 JUNE 2020, ANALYSIS AND FORECAST.

Italy is affected by rather unstable air, resulting from a low pressure that has persisted for several days now. At times, especially in the afternoon hours, there is bad weather, and this occurs with greater intensity in Northern Italy, but now also in Central Italy. Atmospheric instability, especially in Northern Italy, will last several days more.

The High Pressure of the Azores is always in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and ferry fresh air towards us which, however, is gradually disappearing, in fact we expect news.

The low pressure that affected Italy has intensified and taken to the west. Unstable air masses from the west continue to flow into Italy, but between Sunday and Monday, an expansion of North African High Pressure could occur on us, which would lead to a sharp increase in temperature. For the moment, the areas at greatest risk of heat wave would seem to be Southern Italy and Sicily. Further on, the heat will break even further north, becoming overwhelming.

The weather conditions for the next few days will therefore be characterized by a marked atmospheric variability, especially in the central-northern part of Italy. At times the perturbations will go up to the lower Tyrrhenian Sea, will involve Central Italy and part of the South, and still part of the Major Islands. We will have thunderstorms distributed like a leopard.

Friday 12 June, a significant improvement is expected compared to today, however the North West and the eastern Alpine areas will still have atmospheric instability, and there will be other storms and showers, especially in the afternoon and in the evening. In the rest of Italy, bright spells will occur, with an increase in temperature, especially where the weather will be sunny.

We report the risk of a new deterioration for the late evening in the south of Sardinia, with the possibility of storms and downpours.

Saturday 13 June, an unstable air impulse could arrive in the western Italian basins, and spread in our country with scattered thunderstorms, especially in the hottest hours. Locally there could be severe thunderstorms.

Sunday 14 June, an increase in atmospheric pressure is expected. Instability could still cause some thunderstorms scattered in the North, the Center and part of the southern Apennines. The temperature is set to rise again.

Monday June 15th, it will be hot on Italy, but in the afternoon hours cloud coverings can develop with the risk of scattered thunderstorms. It will improve the weather in Northern Italy.

Tuesday and Wednesday 16-17 June, we will have hot summer days with thermal values of over 30 ° C in various cities. In Northern Italy, other afternoon and evening thunderstorms may occur. Elsewhere we will have quite sunny weather.

ADDITIONAL WEATHER TRENDS

It will be hot all over Italy, with summer temperatures, and above average values. There could be an increase in instability in Northern Italy and in part of the Center, with the risk of having stormy afternoons. With the increase in temperature, high intensity phenomena could occur, even with hail.

We remind you that weather forecasts with validity up to 5 days have greater reliability, while this decreases as we move away over time.
