Tuscany, regional borders reopen. Here is what can be done and what is prohibited instead


Florence, June 3, 2020 – From today the ban on moving is dropped between regions. It is therefore possible to cross the borders and reach any other Italian location without the need for self-certification. But to move you still need to follow specific rules. Here, then, is a summary

Movements by car and motorbike

Cars and motorbikes: the rules don’t change. Members of the same family can travel in the same car, but if they are not joined then they take over limitations: maximum two people (3 in the case of a car with three rows of seats), with the driver obviously in the driving seat and the passenger in the rear seats. Both must wear a mask. In motion, the passenger, being unable to maintain the distance, can only be a partner.

Second houses, hotels and bathing establishments

Transfer to second homes possible and ok also to bed & breakfast hotels on reservation. The same rules always apply for bathing establishments and recreational facilities with the spacing, the ‘closed number’ and where possible the booking.

Travel by train and plane

In addition to the obligation to distance and the prohibition of assembly, from today the measurement of fever becomes mandatory not only for those traveling by plane but also for those traveling with High Speed ​​or Intercity: there will be dedicated entrances to the stations and those with 37.5 ° C will not be allowed access on board the train.

Foreign trips

From 3 June, travel will be freely allowed for any reason to and from the following states:
– Member States of the European Union (in addition to Italy, they are Member States of the EU: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta , Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Hungary);
– States parties to the Schengen Agreement (non-EU States party to the Schengen Agreement are: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland);
– United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;
– Andorra, Monaco;
– Republic of San Marino and Vatican City State.
From June 3, people entering or returning to Italy from these countries will no longer be subjected to health surveillance and fiduciary isolation for 14 days, unless they have stayed in different countries in the 14 days prior to entry into Italy. For example, a person who enters Italy from France on June 14 will be subject to fiduciary isolation if he entered France from the United States on June 4, but will not be subject to isolation if the move from the United States to France occurred within on May 30 or if between May 31 and June 13 he stayed in Germany.
From 3 to 15 June, the same rules continue to apply to journeys to and from different states than those listed above, which until June 2 apply to all journeys to and from abroad (see previous FAQ).

Are there any travel restrictions for those with respiratory infection symptoms and fever above 37.5 °?

Patients with symptoms of respiratory infection and fever (greater than 37.5 ° C) must remain at their home and limit social contacts as much as possible, by contacting their doctor.

Can anyone who is under quarantine measure move?

There is an “absolute ban” on leaving the home for those who are subjected to the quarantine because they have tested positive for the virus.

Social distances

Any type of gathering is prohibited. No limit to the number of meetings with friends outside or at home, as long as you can maintain the interpersonal distance of at least one meter in all situations.
