Exasperated by the traffic jams that overflow from the Ligurian highway network, going to completely congest his country, the mayor of Arenzano, Luigi Gambinohas decided to denounce Autostrade per l’Italia and the Ministry of Transport for “economic, image and environmental damage”. Since when, at the end of lockdown, Aspi has started to prepare urgent maintenance works on the tunnels, traffic already strongly slowed by the collapse of the Morandi viaduct was “unsustainable” for the mayor who is keen to clarify “that he has always been critical at peak times and days, due to heavy traffic in the direction Genoa, but what time does it have exceeded any limit of endurance“. If it took between 20 and 30 minutes to go to Genoa from Arenzano, now times have at least tripled, net of frequent accidents that worsen the situation with peaks of 3-4 hours to travel, bottled, less than 20 kilometers. The purpose of the complaint is to “give a signal and involve other mayors in the hope at least of having an acceleration of the work and of being able to return to welcoming worthily the tourists who are necessary for the economy of our Riviera countries already strongly in crisis after three months stop “.

In these weeks of pandemic we journalists, if we do our job with conscience,
we do a public service. This is also why we are proud every day here at ilfattoquotidiano.it
to offer hundreds of new content for free to all citizens: news, exclusive insights,
expert interviews, surveys, videos and much more. All this work, however, has a great economic cost.
Advertising, in a time when the economy is stagnant, offers limited revenues.
