  • Military parades are held in Moscow and major cities of the Russian Federation today to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The celebrations were supposed to be held as per tradition on May 9, but were postponed due to the spread of the pandemic. The solemn events on Moscow’s Red Square coincide with the anniversary of the first Victory Parade, ordered by Stalin exactly 75 years ago, when veterans returning from various fronts marched in the center of the Soviet capital. This year, not only the Russian military is participating, but also representatives of 17 other countries, including China, Serbia and most of the states of the former Soviet Union (PA).
