Shame stands out on page 2 of Republic, in the newsstand edition today, Wednesday 3 June, the day after the demonstration of the center-right in Piazza del Popolo in Rome, with Giorgia Meloni, Matteo Salvini is Antonio Tajani. What shame? The headline of the newspaper directed by Maurizio Molinari, which reads: “Right, crowd in the square. Masks banned and insults in Mattarella“. Flying over the masks, a rather instrumental attack if you don’t even try to analyze the reasons for such an event, the shame lies in that”insults to Mattarella“. True, there are those who attacked in a horrible way Sergio Mattarella, but with Fratelli d’Italia, Lega and Forza Italia it had nothing to do with it. The offenses and threats to the head of state came from the demonstration of the orange vests of Antonio Pappalardo, not by those who met with Salvini, Meloni and Tajani. Yet for Republic this does not count. It is all gathered under the wording “right”, and the message that passes is that Mattarella has been insulted by everyone. Nothing so far from reality, just think – to take a single example – of words of appreciation expressed by Salvini for the tenant of Colle. But when there is to shoot in the pile, Repubblica never goes back. And above all he never denies himself.
