A large crowd took part in the spontaneous initiative
Flash mob at the Royal Palace, touching moments during the event
CASERTA – Kneel for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. With a black ribbon or balloon in his hand. Some with a raised fist, some with a bowed head, some with signs with unequivocal meanings, all praising the end of racial hatred in the world.
Eight long minutes in religious silence. Eight minutes that cost their lives George Floyd, died suffocated by the policeman’s knee Derek Chauvin who had arrested him. Images that have become the dramatic symbol of an America still far from freeing itself from racism and applying that democracy which it also boasts of.
The flash mob held yesterday, Sunday 14 June, in front of the Royal Palace of Caserta was dedicated to him, poor George and all the victims of racial hatred. The popular participation in the event which started at 18:00 in front of the Vanvitellian work is very great.
People from all over the province of Terra di Lavoro and beyond took part in the demonstration to raise public awareness of the serious facts that have been bleeding the US in recent weeks, in full compliance with the rules of social distancing for the health emergency caused from the Coronavirus.
There are many signs with the words stop racism or the various hastags launched on the web in these weeks of protests around the world, such as #George #GeorgeFloyd #blacklivesmatter #justiceforgeorge #italyforgeorge #wearegeorge protests and demonstrations that continue vibrant today.
Yesterday’s demonstration at the Royal Palace took place in an absolutely peaceful way, with great respect. Once gathered, the demonstrators observed the 8 minutes and 46 seconds of silence. There were also very touching and exciting moments such as the musical performance of some songs by the artist Kinane Abell,
linked to the issue of peace, respect and love between men precisely to wanting to break the chain of hatred and violence that has been inflaming not only the United States of America for decades but a large part of the world. There are many moments of reflection and sharing of the themes and massage that the event wanted to launch.
An event that immediately made people talk a lot about themselves, in a province, that of Caserta, often seemingly indifferent or lazy to the great global issues that are increasingly looming. The organizers of the flash mob thanked all the people who contributed to the realization of the event via social networks:
“Each of you put his own, – wrote the creators of the event – each of us has brought an important message to that square, we want equal rights for one race, the human race. We did it in silence, for George and for all the people who died unjustly ”.
