The new one has arrived Specialized Demo 2021, with a frame design that provides flexibility in mounting the wheels and allows the rider to mount a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel!
The Demo we introduced last year, in its first season, was the best both in the Downhill World Cup and in the overall World Cup standings.
Now we have renewed it by introducing one mixed configuration of the wheels.
Here are all the details, modifications and models of the Specialized Demo 2021.
The geometry of the Demo has been studied to obtain speed and handling at the same time.
A new Horst joint adjustment allows three different configurations of geometry that affect the length of the chainstays and the height of the movement: short, medium and long.
The surprising results of the Specialized Gravity Team suggested that we provide the Demo as standard with rotates 29 inches on the front and 27.5 on the rear.
The adjustment allows you to choose the rear wheel size that best suits your driving style.
LESS SLOWS. MORE SPEED
The impacts against the sharp obstacles slow you down, because they cause a momentary interruption of the movement. The impact that should be absorbed by the suspension is instead transferred to you. Take a hit and slow down.
By changing the trajectory of the rear axle, moving the wheel away from the frame in the first half of the race, we reduced the slowdown due to stress.
MORE CONTROL IN BRAKING
You’re braking, your weight shifts forward and the rear wheel loses grip just when you need to stay low and center.
We expected the right degree of anti-rise in the Demo, so that, if you need to slow down in a fraction of a second, the bike will remain glued to the ground giving you maximum control even on the steepest stretches.
EVEN FASTER IN THE PEDALING
The Demo converts each watt expressed on the pedals into speed.
The new kinematics produces the right amount of anti-squat. To be more precise, you push on the pedals and the new Demo is pushed forward.
No “pumping”, no slowing down.
STABILITY AND CONFIDENCE
Staying low means going fast.
That’s right, a low center of gravity makes you more stable at high speeds.
The Demo link places the shock absorber lower and more advanced inside the triangle, creating an ideal rear axle trajectory and absolute confidence in your abilities.
RELIABLE REAR SUSPENSION
The new link design not only shifts the weight to the bottom of the frame, but also isolates the shock absorber from lateral loads, reducing its stress.
In addition, the Trunnion attack increases durability and fluidity in operation.
The Specialized Demo 2021 is produced in three models, two complete bikes and a frame kit:
