From today all national connections by air and by sea to Sardinia are free. This is foreseen by a decree adopted late yesterday by the Transport Minister Paola De Micheli. No more restarting of ports and airports in stages (from 13 national routes and from 25 international ones), therefore, as MIT had established before yesterday's measure which actually opens up national routes and international connections also operated by low cost. "We have agreed to reopen all national traffic, it was we who asked for it," Christian Solinas, President of the Sardinia Region, told ANSA. "As of June 5, 2020, maritime connection services are insured from and to Sardinia, as well as air transport services, even if not in continuity, on the routes from Sardinia to national airports and vice versa", states the decree. The protests of Confitarma and Conftrasporti, which immediately requested a correction of the previous ministerial measure, weighed on the decision to reopen everything.
