TOUCH UP WHERE YOU NEEDED – After recent updates to BMW 5 Series (here la news) the house of Monaco announces the restyling of the very sporty sedan BMW M5 (launched 3 years ago) in the standard and Competition versions. The stylistic innovations do not upset the bodywork, but update it in the wake of continuity, because the M5 2020 it has a renewed mask, wider and squared. The lower part of the front fascia also changes, the style of the daytime running lights and the interior of the rear lights, in addition to the rear fascia. The shock absorbers have been unprecedented and the structure renewed, with a view to increasing comfort and handling; the M5 Competition, moreover, has a lowered structure of 0.7 cm and external details in black. New 20 ”wheels and five metallic paints also make their debut.

ANGRY WITH A FINGER – The edition 2020 of the BMW M5 it receives slight improvements inside, where there is a touch screen in the 12.3 “console (previously it was 10.25”) and new beige and black Merino leather upholstery. Also new is the head-up display, which projects information useful for driving on the windshield: by selecting the M View mode, only the tachometer and warning lights appear that indicate to the driver the right moment to change gears. Above the steering wheel spokes, as for the previous edition, there are two red buttons, which allow the driver to call up “on the fly” two combinations to choose from the many settings: for the calibration of the shock absorbers, the delivery of the engine, the control stability and traction, the active exhaust and the distribution of the torque between the front and rear, thus choosing whether to have a more comfortable car for everyday driving or angry for driving on the track.

REAR OR FULL – Under the hood of the BMW M5 the 4.4 V8 bi-turbo engine is present, unchanged from the past: it has 600 HP, 750 Nm of torque and ensures supercar performance, with 3.4 seconds for the ‘0-100’ and 250 km / h of limited maximum speed electronically; for a fee, there is the option to get it to 305 km / h. The M5 Competition offers 625 hp and the same torque, and for the ‘0-100’ it needs 3.3 seconds. The gearbox is the 8-speed automatic that discharges the torque to the ground through the advanced M xDrive all-wheel drive, which allows the driver to exclude the front differential for rear-wheel only, for the benefit of driving fun.
