Rome, Fonseca observes an hour-long match – La Gazzetta dello Sport

Three weeks after the resumption of the championship, the coach intensifies the work. Watch special Shepherd, Diawara and Zappacosta

Paulo Fonseca’s Roma has started to pick up the pace. Three weeks after the resumption of the championship, and three months after the last official game in Cagliari, the coach in this afternoon’s training deployed his players for a real one-hour game. White jersey on one side, red on the other, in two 30 ‘halves, the players challenged each other by intensifying their work after almost a month of training. Special observers were Pastore, Diawara and Zappacosta, returning from more or less long injuries. The Argentine has not played since November, the former Chelsea since October, Diawara instead tested the knee after, in January, he had chosen conservative therapy instead of the meniscus operation. Fonseca deployed him with Veretout, while on the other side the median was made up of Villar and Cristante. Important test also for Ibanez, ex Atalanta, to whom Fonseca has placed Smalling.

Pau Lopez, Zaniolo and Perotti did not participate in the game: the first has not yet resumed with his teammates after the wrist fracture, Zaniolo continues to train separately – also raising the pace – and Perotti is not at his best after the injury muscle that forced him to stop two weeks.
