(ANSA) – ROME, JUNE 5 – While in the United States continue
protests over the death of George Floyd, the New York Reverend
Al Sharpton, known leader of the civil rights struggle, has
announced that he will organize a march on Washington on August 28
on the 57th anniversary of the historic rights demonstration
civilians.

“We will return on August 28th to reaffirm that dream (of Martin
Luther King), “said Sharpton, quoted by CNN, during
the funeral speech given for Floyd’s funeral. “We have to
go back to Washington – he added – blacks, whites, latins,
Arabs, in the shadow of Lincoln, it’s time to end
all of this”.
The march, the reverend pointed out, will be led by the
families who “know the pain” and know what it means to be
“neglected”, including the families of Floyd and Eric Garner, a
another African American who was suffocated in 2014 by a
Police officer.
