Pandemic, two million infections and 97,500 deaths in Latin America – Latin America

The curve of the coronavirus pandemic in Latin America is always pointing high, even if for two days the growth rates of infections, (now at 2.090.751, +39.714), and deaths (97.544, +1.820), are in the part low to medium. The most affected country in the area remains Brazil, where in the last 24 hours the infected people reached 1,106,470 (+21,432), of which 51,271 died (+654).

In the United States there have been 425 victims in the last 24 hours (for a total of 120,393) and the infections have reached 2.31 million.

Coronavirus infections in Pakistan have caused 105 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid victims in the country to 3,695, according to data released today by the Ministry of Health. With 3,946 new infections in the country, the number of confirmed total cases is 185,034. In the past 24 hours, 2013 people have recovered (73,471 total). The number of critically ill patients is 3,236, 17 fewer than yesterday. The southern province of Sindh recorded most of the infections, 71,092, followed by Eastern Punjab with 68,308. Yesterday, Prime Minister Imran Khan again ruled out the possibility of a broad spectrum blockade and said that the government is implementing smart closures in the country’s hot spots to protect especially the most vulnerable people.

Libya has registered another 24 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 595. The Libyan National Center for Disease Control announced on its official Facebook page, stating that the deaths remain stable at 10, while the recovered ones rise from 103 to 116 and the currently positive people from 458 to 469. Severe lockdown measures they remain in force in many cities, particularly in the south of the country, to try to limit the spread of the virus.
