Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 he’s having a lot of arguing over his heatsink somewhat innovative and very eye-catching, which apparently covers the whole board with its detail design evidently developed to guarantee optimal temperature regulation in the face of heavy workloads.
We have already seen how the GeForce RTX 3080 can have a prohibitive price by simply calculating this element, given that only the heatsink costs $ 150, according to what reported yesterday, but let’s see why this cost. The new Nvidia flagship with architecture Ampere it is completely covered by a dissipation system based on an infinity of aluminum slats arranged obliquely, with a shape that guarantees the movement of heat through the body of the card and the fan. A new one leaked photo online allows you to better see how the solution is structured.
In fact, these are four heatsinks arranged in blocks, with the central one characterized by a particular X-shape as regards the aluminum slats, in addition to four large heat pipes that pass through the various components. The strange aspect is also accompanied by two bidirectional fans, structured in such a way as to suck in and throw hot air outside, with all the design that seems set on the temperature and pressure differential to favor maximum ventilation.
Obviously, all this as regards the models developed directly by Nvidia, or the Founder’s Edition (or as they will be called), while it remains to be seen how the various manufacturers will solve the issue of heat dissipation with their own solutions.
