The largest of Nissan’s compact SUVs, now in its fourth generation, changes style, improves equipment and connectivity and uses an advanced version of the CMF-C / D platform also used by Nissan Qashqai, Renault Kadjar and Renault Koleos.
The new style of Nissan SUVs
In particular the design of the Rogue 2021 for America it also tells us how the new Qashqai that we anticipated with this rendering will change. The new path taken by the design manager Alfonso Albaisa with the Rogue seems to be facing precisely in this direction stylistic evolution.
At the moment only the data, photos and features of the Nissan Rogue are available American, without official confirmation yet about its landing in Europe as X-Trail.
Verticality and more massive lines
Starting from the style you can see the evolution of the front that appears even more on the new Nissan Rogue imposing and vertical thanks to the evolution of the larger “V-motion” grille which dominates the entire front. Even the headlights change and are now on three levels (a bit like the new Juke) and with LED technology.
External measurements tell us that the new Rogue is slightly shorter than the current generation (-3.8 cm) and just shorter (-0.5 cm). Careful work has been done on theaerodynamics which includes deflectors in front of the front wheels, the active grille to manage the air to the engine and the shape of the windshield pillar.
The tail of the Nissan Rogue has also evolved, which now has a more vertical and squared pattern, modified headlamps and the written model in the center of the tailgate, directly under the Nissan brand.
“Flying” infotainment and digital instrumentation
Many changes also to the passenger compartment because the new Rogue has a large one “flying” touch screen 9 “for infotainment and move the air vents further down. On some configurations it is also possible to have for the first time the digital instrumentation on a 12.3 “screen and a large 10.8” color head-up display projected onto the windshield.
The new equipment also includes the Zero Gravity seats designed for maximum travel comfort, the heated seats in front and behind, the roller blinds for the rear doors, the tri-zone air conditioner, the keyless opening on the four doors, the tailgate that can be opened with the movement of the foot and a redesigned luggage compartment.
Even the electronic gear lever and without mechanical connections allows you to get more space for the glove box on the central tunnel and also leaves room for wireless charging of the smartphone.
Advanced driving aids
Several novelties also in terms of driving aids and on-board connectivity for the new Nissan Rogue which in the USA offers the Nissan Safety Shield 360 including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot alert, automatic reverse braking, automatic high beam and driver fatigue alert. In addition, it is possible to have ProPILOT Assist with adaptive cruise control.
In addition to compatibility with Apple CarPlay (soon also wireless) and Android Auto, the evolution of the ProPILOT Assist is signaled, which through the data recognized by the navigator automatically reduces the speed of the car in the vicinity of curves, intersections and junctions.
In the United States, the only engine available for the new Rogue is the 2.5 petrol engine powered at 181 HP, with traction front or 4×4.
