MotoGP | Lorenzo ‘calls’ Ducati: “I miss winning” – Moto

The name of Jorge Lorenzo is circulating with increasing insistence in MotoGP, associated with a possible – and sensational – return to racing just one year after retiring, announced after the unfortunate season in Honda. Both Lin Jarvis of Yamaha and Paolo Ciabatti of Ducati have highlighted how the desire of the five-time world champion to return to the grid is a given. The test contract with Yamaha is expiring at the end of 2020, and therefore Lorenzo for 2021 is free to look around, and the most valid option seems to be the official Ducati seat alongside Jack Miller, considering the difficulties he is experiencing Andrea Dovizioso in his renewal negotiation.

Lorenzo, during a MotoGP podcast, did not hide and launched gods clear signs towards Borgo Panigale. The words of the Spaniard highlight his desire to return: “I miss the feeling of winning. If I had the opportunity and if I was called to win the championship, I would listen and evaluate the proposal. What motivates me is to win. If I had this opportunity I will study it, because I still see myself able, with the right tools, to win a World Cup“.

The five-time champion has clear ideas on the possible landing: “For the moment I have not yet received interesting calls. There would be only two options, Yamaha or Ducati. But Yamaha is more or less okay“, Said the Majorcan, suggesting the desire to open the door for Ducati. In case of renewal of Dovizioso, Lorenzo would not mind continuing his test activity: “If it doesn’t happen to return, I would still be very happy with my life. In that case I would like to continue with Yamaha to complete the work that COVID-19 has prevented us from doing“.
