“Military flights to monitor protests”, investigations in the United States – North America

The U.S. Air Force inspector general is investigating whether military aircraft have been improperly used for reconnaissance flights to monitor recent protests in Washington and Minneapolis, in support of civilian authorities. The New York Times reported it, quoting a spokesman for the Us Air Force according to which the investigation started from some concerns shared also by the head of the Pentagon Mark Esper. Concerns related to a possible violation of civil liberties.
